Core Values
Christ the King Church exists to bring glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ in every aspect of our life together. We are committed to the centrality of Jesus Christ, the Living Head of the Church, and to the truth that salvation comes through Him alone. The authority for our ministry comes from the Word of God, which we believe is infallible and divinely inspired. We submit ourselves as individuals and as a church family to the authority of the Bible and commit ourselves to living by Biblical principles. We understand our calling in the context of the following core values, or ministry distinctives, which define the nature of our life and service together. These values reflect who we are and the commitments we make (in no particular order)!

Our motto reminds us to defend and teach the gospel, which unites us in Christ. We seek to always speak the truth in love, and to give grace to others when we disagree. In our ministries we are called to be faithful and loving, allowing the Lord to determine the level of fruitfulness we are to enjoy.
Ephesians 4:13, 15-16, “…until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ… Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”Foundation of Prayer
All that we do must have the thorough foundation of our individual and corporate prayer support, as we anticipate the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our ministry.
Ephesians 6:18 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”Local and Global Missions
The conviction that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation leads us to pursue a variety of means of proclaiming of the Gospel, by sending our members and also partnering with other Christians to take the message to all those who need to hear, both in the local community and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 4:12, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."An Environment of Grace
Under the sovereignty of God, we understand that any good that happens in our ministry is the result of His grace towards us. Consequently, our ministry together must be characterized by that same grace in our response to one another, especially in light of the wonderful diversity we share as the Body of Christ.
Galatians 3:26-28, “For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.”Christian Education and Youth Ministry
Our commitment in Christian discipleship is to seek to bring every member to spiritual maturity in Jesus Christ-- all children, youth and adults. This includes an emphasis on the spiritual growth of our youth.
Hebrews 5:13-14, “Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”Effective Ministry
Our challenge is to provide a balance of both: 1) gathering all members together to be equipped for ministry, and then 2) doing the ministry for which every member has been commissioned by Christ.
James 1:22-25, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. Spiritual growth, mutual care, and integrity in the lives and ministries of our members require that we provide a context for loving relationships. We give high priority to the development of small groups where this can take place.
Acts 2:42-47, “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Recognizing that one of the battlefields of our faith in Christ is right within the home, we are committed to strengthening the spiritual lives of families and singles as they seek to become beacons of light for Christ within our community
Joshua 24:14-15, “Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. Our church family is built upon the assumption that we treat each other with loving care and generosity. We undertake ministry with a humble heart, grateful for the privilege of serving Christ and His Body.
Philippians 2:1-4, “If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”Diversity in Worship
Our worship includes a variety of music with a great appreciation of our Christian history and traditions. Our celebration of the sacraments is an example of our unity in Christ.
Colossians 3:15-17, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
